Terms of Use

Last updated: October 12, 2026

These terms govern your use of The Darts App. Please read them. Sections 9 (Darts and Events), 19 (Disclaimers), 20 (Limitation of Liability) and 22 (Disputes) limit what we are responsible for.

1. Who we are, and what these terms cover

The Darts App is owned and operated by Joinue LLC, an Arizona limited liability company (“Joinue,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Joinue LLC. They cover the websites at thedarts.app and play.thedarts.app, the iPhone and Android apps, the kiosk and TV views, shared tournament links, and everything else we offer under The Darts App name (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is part of them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

2. Who can use the app

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you need a parent or legal guardian to agree to these Terms for you, and they are responsible for your use of the Service. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we will delete it.

You must be 18 or older to own or manage a venue, run a venue’s events, or buy anything from us.

If you use the Service on behalf of a pub, club, league, or other organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and “you” in these Terms means both you and that organization.

You may not use the Service if we have previously banned you, or if you are barred from it under applicable law, including US export control and sanctions rules.

3. Your account

You need a free account to keep score, run tournaments, and add friends. You can sign up with an email address or with Google or Apple.

  • Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
  • One account per person. Don't share your account, and don't sell or transfer it or your handle.
  • Keep your email address current. It is how we reach you about your account.
  • Don't create an account for someone else without their permission.

If you think someone else has gotten into your account, change your password and tell us at legal@joinue.com right away.

4. Scores, stats, and no gambling

The Darts App is a scoring and organizing tool, for fun and practice. Scores, averages, checkouts, brackets, and standings come from what the people playing enter. We don’t verify them, we can’t settle an argument about who won, and they aren’t an official record for any league or governing body unless that league chooses to treat them as one.

The Service involves no money and no prizes from us, and it is not gambling. You may not use it to run, record, or settle a bet, wager, or any game played for money or something of value.

5. Your content

“Your content” means what you put into the Service: your display name, handle, and profile photo, the players and teams you add, your games and scores, and the tournaments and venues you create. You keep ownership of all of it.

So we can run the Service, you give Joinue LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, back up, copy, resize, and display your content, only to provide the Service to you and to the people you play with: for example, to show your name on a scoreboard, a bracket, a shared tournament link, a venue page, or a TV view. We may let the providers who host and deliver the Service do the same, only for that purpose. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for the copies described in Section 11 and in the Privacy Policy. We don’t sell your content, use it in advertising, or use it to train AI models.

You confirm you have the right to post your content, and that it breaks no law and nobody else’s rights. Only upload a photo of yourself, or one you have the right to use.

6. Adding other people

You can add other people to the Service by name: as players in your games, as walk-in guests in a tournament, or as staff at a venue. When you do, you confirm that they know, and would expect, that their name is being entered and shown to the people in that game, tournament, or venue, and on any shared link or TV view you create. Use the name they go by. Don’t enter anyone’s private details (an email address, a phone number, a home address) in a name or note field.

7. Names, photos, and how you treat others

These rules apply to everything you put into the Service, including names, handles, photos, team, tournament, venue, and board names, and notes. You may not:

  • Use slurs, or post anything hateful, or anything that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability
  • Post sexual, graphic, or violent images, or threaten anyone
  • Impersonate a person, player, venue, league, or organization, or misrepresent your connection to one
  • Post someone else's private information, or a photo of someone else without their permission
  • Post content that infringes someone's copyright, trademark, or other rights
  • Harass people or send spam, including through friend requests or game invites
  • Use the Service for scams or anything illegal
  • Keep contacting or inviting someone who has blocked you, including from another account
  • Interfere with the Service, get around a security measure, rate limit, block, or ban, or access data or accounts that aren't yours
  • Scrape the Service, access it with bots or automated tools, or reverse-engineer it, except as the law allows
  • Resell or commercially exploit the Service or its data without our written permission

Some words are blocked in names automatically. That filter doesn’t catch everything, and getting a name past it doesn’t make the name acceptable.

Content that sexualizes or endangers a minor is never allowed, in any form. We remove it, close the accounts involved, and report apparent child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as US law requires.

8. Venues, tournaments, and kiosks

If you create a venue or run a tournament on the Service, you are the organizer of it, not us. You are responsible for:

  • Being authorized to represent the venue you list, and keeping its details accurate
  • How your event is run: the format, the rules, who plays, and settling disputes between players
  • Any entry fees, prizes, or payouts. We never collect, hold, or pay out money for an event; anything like that is between you and your players, and you are responsible for following the laws that apply to it, including any rules on raffles, gaming, and prize competitions
  • Following the laws and licenses that apply to your premises and event, including those on alcohol, age limits, capacity, and safety
  • The people you give staff or scorer access to, and what they do with it
  • Any device you leave signed in for public use, such as a kiosk or a board-side tablet. Sign it out when you're done

A public tournament link or TV view can be seen by anyone who has the link, and a listed venue page can be seen by anyone. Unlist a venue or tournament, or don’t share its link, if you want it kept private.

We may remove or correct a venue listing, change a venue’s owner, or remove someone’s access to a venue if we reasonably believe they aren’t authorized, if the listing breaks these Terms, or if the venue asks us to.

9. Darts and events: your own risk

Darts are sharp, and darts are often played in bars and clubs. We don’t organize, host, supervise, or verify any game, tournament, league night, or venue, and we don’t screen or background-check players, organizers, or venue staff.

You play, attend events, and meet people through the Service at your own risk. That includes the risk of injury, property damage, and loss. To the fullest extent the law allows, you release Joinue LLC and its owner, members, and personnel from all claims, known or unknown, arising out of or connected with any game, event, venue, or other person you play with, meet, or learn about through the Service.

If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code section 1542, which says: “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.” You also waive any similar law elsewhere.

If you have a dispute with another player, organizer, or venue, it is between you and them.

10. Reporting and blocking

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. To report or block someone, tap the ⋯ menu next to them: in search results, on a friend request, in your Friends list, or on their profile. Reports are private; the person you report isn’t told who reported them. You can also report by email to legal@joinue.com.

Blocking someone stops friend requests and search between you in both directions, and ends your friendship if you had one. You can unblock them from the Friends page.

We review reports and act on objectionable content, usually within 24 hours. Depending on how serious the problem is and whether it has happened before, we may remove or reset a name, handle, or photo, warn the user, or suspend or close their account.

We may, but are not obliged to, review content on the Service, and not acting on something right away doesn’t stop us acting on it later. Don’t file false or malicious reports.

11. Suspension, termination, and leaving

We may suspend or close your account, with or without notice, if you break these Terms, if you create a new account to get around a suspension or ban, if the law requires it, or if your use puts other users or the Service at risk. We will usually tell you why, but we are not required to.

We may also change, suspend, or stop offering the Service, or any part of it, at any time. If we shut the Service down, we will give you reasonable notice first so you can download your data, and we will refund the unused part of any prepaid venue plan.

You can stop using the Service at any time, and you can download your data and delete your account yourself from the Account page, or from thedarts.app/delete-account. Deleting your account cancels any venue plan you own. Games and tournaments other accounts took part in stay in their history, as the Privacy Policy describes.

When your account ends, your right to use the Service ends too. Sections 4 through 9 and 13 through 25 continue to apply.

12. Venue plans

Playing is free. Venues can buy a paid plan that unlocks venue features. Venue plans are sold on the website only, and payments are processed by Stripe, which handles your card details directly. We never see your full card number.

  • Price. The price, billing period, and any tax are shown before you buy. Prices are in US dollars.
  • Free periods. If we offer a free period (such as a launch offer or a free first tournament), the terms of it are shown when you sign up. If you start a plan during a free period, you aren’t charged until the date shown.
  • Automatic renewal. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and we charge the payment method on file at the then-current price, until you cancel.
  • Cancel any time. Cancel from Manage billing on your venue’s page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew after that.
  • Refunds. Payments are non-refundable, and we don’t give refunds or credits for a partly used period, except where the law requires it or Section 11 says otherwise. If you think you were charged by mistake, email legal@joinue.com and we will look into it.
  • Price changes. We may change the price of a plan. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your plan, and it only applies from your next renewal, so you have time to cancel.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may pause your venue’s paid features until it is fixed. An event that is already running always finishes, and nothing is deleted.

13. Tips

You can choose to leave a tip on the website. Tips are processed by Stripe. A tip is a voluntary gift: it doesn’t buy anything, it doesn’t unlock features, and it is non-refundable except where the law requires. Joinue LLC is a for-profit company, not a charity, so tips are not tax-deductible.

14. Purchases in the iPhone and Android apps

If we offer purchases inside the iPhone or Android app, they are sold through the App Store or Google Play and are governed by that store’s terms, including its payment, renewal, and refund rules. Refunds for those purchases are handled by Apple or Google, not by us. Any details specific to a purchase are shown before you buy, and they form part of these Terms.

15. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, which providers process it for us, and the control you have over it. We don’t sell your personal information and we don’t run ads.

We may disclose information about you or your content when the law requires it, when we believe in good faith that it is needed to prevent death or serious harm, to report apparent child sexual exploitation to NCMEC, or to investigate a report, enforce these Terms, or protect the rights and safety of our users, the public, or us. If Joinue LLC or The Darts App is sold, merged, or reorganized, your information may transfer as part of that, and the new owner will be bound by the Privacy Policy then in force.

16. Copyright and DMCA

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated copyright agent at legal@joinue.com, or by mail to Copyright Agent, Joinue LLC, 3601 E. 34th Street, Tucson, AZ 85713, United States. This is the same agent and address registered with the U.S. Copyright Office (registration DMCA-1079485). Your notice must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • The copyrighted work you say was infringed
  • The material you say is infringing, and where it is on the Service (a link is best)
  • Your name, address, phone number, and email address
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same agent, as described in 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). Anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or was removed by mistake, can be liable for the damages that causes (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)). We close the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

17. Our app and brand

The Service itself, including its software, design, text, graphics, and The Darts App name and logo, belongs to Joinue LLC and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service under these Terms. Nothing else is licensed to you.

18. Feedback and third-party services

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them for any purpose without paying or crediting you. Please don’t send anything you consider confidential.

The Service links to and relies on services we don’t control, such as Google and Apple sign-in, Stripe, and the app stores. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and we aren’t responsible for them.

19. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Joinue LLC disclaims all warranties, express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that scores, stats, checkout suggestions, brackets, or standings will be accurate, or that any data will be preserved. Keep your own record of anything that matters to you, such as league results.

Some places don’t allow some of these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.

20. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Joinue LLC and its owner, members, managers, personnel, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, even if we were told such damages were possible.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) one hundred US dollars ($100) or (b) what you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose. Tips are gifts, not payments for the Service, and don’t count toward (b).

These limits apply to every kind of claim, including claims about injuries, events, venues, lost data, outages, and other users. Some places don’t allow some of these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

The Service is run by a company, not by any individual personally. Your agreement is with Joinue LLC only, and you agree not to bring a claim relating to the Service against its owner, members, managers, or personnel personally, to the fullest extent the law allows.

21. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Joinue LLC and its owner, members, and personnel from any claims, losses, damages, and costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, any venue, tournament, or event you run, the people you add, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or anyone else’s rights.

22. Disputes

Talk to us first. Before bringing any claim, email legal@joinue.com describing the problem and what you want, and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally. Most things can be sorted out this way.

Governing law and courts. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute that isn’t resolved informally will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Pima County, Arizona, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies.

Individual claims only. To the fullest extent the law allows, you and we each agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative action.

Time limit. Any claim relating to these Terms or the Service must be brought within one year after it arises, or it is permanently barred, unless the law where you live doesn’t allow that limit.

If you live outside the United States, nothing in this section takes away a protection that the law where you live gives you and doesn’t let you give up.

23. Apple and Google app stores

If you use the iPhone or Android app, this also applies:

  • These Terms are between you and Joinue LLC only, not Apple Inc. or Google LLC. We, not Apple or Google, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for the app, if any. To the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • We, not Apple or Google, are responsible for any claim relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or privacy law.
  • We, not Apple or Google, are responsible for investigating, defending, and settling any claim that the app infringes someone's intellectual property.
  • You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your wireless data plan.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

24. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page. For a material change, we will tell signed-in users in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms. If you don’t agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.

25. General

Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any terms shown when you buy something are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.

Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms or your account. We may transfer these Terms, including as part of a sale, merger, or reorganization.

Severability and waiver. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, that part is limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a term right away doesn’t waive our right to enforce it later.

Events outside our control. We aren’t liable for a failure or delay caused by something outside our reasonable control, including outages at the hosting, database, or payment providers we depend on.

Electronic notices. You agree we can send you notices and records electronically, in the app or by email to the address on your account, and that they satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.

No partnership. These Terms don’t create a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and us.

California users. Under California Civil Code section 1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.
