Darts checkout chart

Updated

A checkout is the visit that finishes a leg, usually on a double (the bullseye counts as double 25). Below is a route for every score from 170 down to 2: the ones The Darts App suggests as you play.

How to read the chart

  • T is a treble, D a double, a plain number a single. 25 is the outer bull and DBull the bullseye.
  • Routes use the fewest darts possible, so some scores finish in one or two darts.
  • Grayed-out scores are bogey numbers: 169, 168, 166, 165, 163, 162, 159. No three darts finish them under double-out, so set up a better leave instead.
Master-out (a double or a treble to finish) opens more routes and lets you finish up to 180. The app suggests master-out routes too when you play that rule.

Setting up your double

  • Even numbers that keep halving are the best leaves: 32 (D16), 40 (D20) and 16 (D8). Miss into the single and you're still on a double.
  • Odd scores need a single first, so take that dart early in the visit if you can.
  • Under 40, aim to leave yourself a double you practice, rather than the chart's first choice.
